So who won my shoes?

On Monday I came to work with my new shoes on. All was good and I was doing that thing where you check out your reflection in shop windows and think “check me out with my new shoes”.

But then, disaster struck, as I was walking through Trafalgar Square I realised that god damn did these bad boys rub my skin and hurt like hell! I persevered and continued walking to work which I eventually reached as I writhed in miserable pain.

At this point I launched a full scale investigation into the cause (and motive) behind my shoes’ torture upon my soles. It was then that I found that I had bought a size 9 pair of shoes and not a size 10 which would surely have been more comfortable for my annoyingly sized 9.5 feet.

So, in a moment of anger and frustration I decided to give them away to whoever wanted them. I wrote a blog post explaining that the person that sends me the best picture of a tiger will win my shoes and I would walk home barefoot.

So, here’s my favourite (cough and only cough) entires to this miniature competition followed by the one that I am now declaring as the winner.

This entry from @callumsaunders was sent by Twitter within about 60 seconds of publishing the post. Full marks for speed of delivery and releasing the inner copywriter, it was almost as fast and growly as an actual tiger.

This one from @halfapair was also sent by twitter and gets extra points for thinking so far out the box that the box is barely visible any more. What box people will say when it gets a pencil at D&AD.

Now I was torn between this bad ass tiger by @fitby30 and the winner because of it’s attention to detail and actual resemblance to a tiger but it was picked to the post by the winners injection of comedy.

And the winning entry goes to for making me laugh like an adulterous woman being tickled by a multi-millionaire golfer.

No points go to @ImJustMike because he cheated by sending an OLD picture that’s NOT EVEN A TIGER! In fact he was disqualified.

That’s all folks. Next time I’m wearing uncomfortable underwear I’ll give that away too.

Win the shoes that I’m wearing right now

Okay so last week I stupidly bought a pair of shoes that were too small for me and over the weekend I’ve realised that they hurt too much to just wear them anyway. Now this week they’re pissing me off even more and I want to get rid of them.

That’s where you come in…

Send me a picture of your best tiger drawing now and you can have the blasted things. You can post a link to your drawing in the comments below, send a twitpic to me on Twitter or fly it through my office window on a paper airplane.

They’re a size UK 9 and that’s what they look like in the picture, you can also see them here. I’m wearing them now at work so if you win and wish to collect them from Golden Square I WILL walk home bare foot (thus adding more reason to put every effort into your drawing).

Any entries will be judged by me and if you don’t win it means you need some serious practice on your tiger drawings.

Love x

Winning a pair of shoes is Simple

For the past few weeks at We Are Social I’ve been working on a few clients, including Simple Shoes. I’ve been writing much of their blog, handling the twitter account and making a fool of myself around central London.

Above is a screenshot of the new competition page we’ve made, with my beautiful self chillaxing with my feet up in Oxford Circus. The premise is simple… Take a picture of yourself with your feet up in a funny place, upload it to the site, and win a pair of Simple Shoes for yourself!

I’ve got a pair myself, that I’m wearing in these piccy’s, and the first thing you’ll notice is that they’re SO comfortable! Some new shoes can be uncomfortable when you first wear them but not these. These fit and feel amazing immediately!

So snap some funny pics and grab yourself a pair now! And don’t forget to get everyone to vote on your picture!

Check out the blog posts I’m writing at simpleshoesblog.co.uk if you’re interested too.
