Innovative newspaper wrap around ad for Sex & The City.
This morning as I came out of Waterloo station there was a gang of glamorous looking women handing out what appeared to be free handbags. Of course all the female commuters crowded round trying to find out what was going on and if they were actually able to get their hands on a free handbag, which then attracted more attention.
Once my girlfriend managed to get her hands on one we quickly realised that these handbags were actually a wrap around Sex & The City ad for the Metro newspaper! Makes a change from the usual ink heavy wrap arounds that mess up your hands when you hold them.
I saw this ad in the tube the other day and couldn’t believe the sheer bullshit I was reading…
Since when has a huge mother fucking Yellow Pages given me information right at my fingertips???
It’s MASSIVE, and no-one in their right mind would carry one around with them. Now I could understand if this ad was refferring me to a website or to an iPhone/blackberry app or something, but it doesn’t.
Just saw this ad on Brand Freak and LOVE it. I can’t even begin to comprehend the complexity of the editing involved here. After watching it just now I quite literally applauded. Well done to everyone involved it’s great.
For more information read this, or wait until next week when it will probably be in Campaign magazine. As for me, I’m going to watch it again, then watch Gordon Ramsay swearing at people in his Fuck Word Kitchen, then sleep.
Love this BMW ad. If you haven’t noticed it, the Jaguar on the bonnet is turned away from the BMW in fear. It shows great personality of the brand and balls from the client. The art direction is great too, with the BMW dominating most of the frame.
I love it when ads are topical and play off relevant and current press. Here’s a great example of an ad for anyjunk.co.uk using playing off the very topical Jedward. I can think of many other things that I’d like to send to anyjunk, including our British climate.
I wrote a bloggy blog post a while ago about the McDonals print ads (here) and the tv ads (here) written by my girlfriends dad, Tony Malcolm. Well he’s just e-mailed me this spoof.
